I rented this game for my son and was very surprised how good it is. The graphic are great and the game holds his attention well. There are some hard parts and I do have to read some of the directions that pop up alot on the screen telling you what to do. There are also little clips during the game to watch. The multi-player games are ok, all the same game just a little different. But overall I will be buying the game.

My eight year old really liked the Dawn of the Dinosaurs movie, and the video game has all of the familiar character from the movie. The game can be a little frustrating at first as you learn the right buttons to push, but it quickly becomes addicting as you try to progress further and further. Basically a character is placed into a scene and you have to figure out how to get through all of the obstacles. Each scene has its own twists and turns that you have to figure out. If you get stuck, characters provide you clues to help you along. My son has really enjoyed working through the game.

This is an amazing game. We have had the Wii for over a year now and have about 45 games. I got this one for my kids for Christmas and have to say that this is one of the best we have. It is sooo much better than I imagined. This game is quite long and takes quite a awhile to get through it. There are so many different things you do along the way. One time you are lassoing a dinosaur and riding on it, then shooting dinos with squirting plants, being chased, running & jumping, sliding, riding on top of snowballs and rocks and rolling them, etc. There is so much creative gameplay incorporated into the game. There is some repetition of activities, but it is in different environments and different characters. You collect strawberries to restore health. You collect berries so you can buy health, or purchase the ability to hold more pinecones to throw, or other upgrades & unlockables. You collect crystals to unlock movie clips, artwork, etc. You play different characters along the way and the graphics are really good. It has fun multiplayer games that adults and kids can play. We had some friends over and 4 of us adults had a blast throwing mud and snow balls at each other in the mini games. Everyone was just laughing and having soo much fun. You have to unlock some more multiplayer games by playing the single player.

Don’t think this is just a kids game and infact is probably a little too hard for younger kids. I have 2 kids, 4 and 6. They can do the beginning stuff of the single player, but it started getting too hard for them to make jumps, etc. They asked for my help to get past certain parts, and so I started playing it. They love watching me play. There were many parts were they would just be laughing and what my character was saying or doing, like how funny sid was when he was walking through the water, and when you are the flying squirrel floating on the air. Every day they bug me to play the game. I ended up playing it through. For Christmas, I also got the sports resort, wii fit plus, and quite a few others. The others are fun, but of all the games, this is the one they want me to play.

I am pretty experienced playing games and some of the challenges were extremely hard. I didn’t think I could get past some of the places. I had to start over and over on some of them until I figured out just the right technique and way of doing it. I had to figure that sometimes you have to run a little past the rock before you jump to make it to the next one and wait a bit to hit A to jump again to double jump, etc.

The multiplayer isn’t hard like that. It is simple games of rolling on a snowball trying to knock players into the water, or running around throwing mud balls at each other, or imitating sids movements, etc.

    A couple of minor cons:

-I wish the multi player mini games could be played longer. You play for a minute and then have to wait for the podium presentation showing who won and then wait for it to reload to play again.

-There are a lot of checkpoints that it restarts you from when you die, but some of the really hard places that you get past, you don’t get a checkpoint right away and end up dying and then have to make it back through the really hard part.

-Once played through it doesn’t let you start with that game again to be able to collect more crystals if you missed some the first time through.

Hope this helps. Buy this game, as I think you will have lots of fun with it.
